Envision CAD were commissioned to plan for a modification for a property in Caister on Sea. The clients wanted a new front entrance and a more modern, larger kitchen diner in this large coastal bungalow.
Before we showcase the work, a word about bungalows. They are a familiar and popular sight locally, with many people choosing bungalows as family homes and for retirement. Their advantages are clear – they’re often built on larger plots when land wasn’t such an issue from the 1930s to 1970s and this gives the scope to extend outwards and upwards.
We know too from estate agency connections that bungalows are always in demand – those people who want them will specify a single storey dwelling when they search on portals, real estate websites and register with agents and developers. This means that if you plan to improve or extend a bungalow, it will be money well spent as that “ceiling price” that may apply to a 3 bedroomed house on a road, may well be smashed by a desirable, suitably extended bungalow.
Now on to the project.
The existing front and rear elevation of the property on Villarome was like this:
The proposed plans drawn up by David:
extended the property to the side and introduced bifold doors to the front.
The property was also remodelled internally.

And the transformation afterwards:
The owners were delighted with the work.
